Carol and Mike Werner

Carol and Mike Werner have been stock photographers since the mid 1980's, combining backgrounds in photojournalism (Carol) and geochemistry (Mike, who holds an M.S.). Their approach is conceptual — their specialty is stretching the imagination, often using illustration and photography in combination to create images of concepts that are difficult to capture with straight photography. Their images have appeared in thousands of publications worldwide, including bestseller covers, textbooks, magazines such as Scientific American, websites, and a billboard in Germany featuring strawberry shortcake.

Roland Birke
|
|
Working since 1977 in the specialized fields of photomicrography and scientific films, Roland Birke has worked for numerous high-tech industrial clients in electronics, micro-medical technology, and pharmacology. A long-time member of BFF e.V., the elite German Association of Free-Lance Photographers, he expanded the scope of industrial and promotional photography. In addition to exhibiting his photographic work, his fascination with and passion for limnology (the scientific study of lakes and other freshwater bodies) has resulted over the course of decades in a large picture archive with a focus on the photomicrography of living organisms.
